Pretzel Jello

First layer:
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar.
Mix these together and spread in 9 x 13 pan.  Bake at 400 degrees 8 – 10 minutes.  Let cool.
Second layer:
  • 8 oz. softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 oz Cool Whip
Mix together and spread over cooled pretzels.  Let this layer set in refrig. while making third layer.
Third layer:
  • 6 oz. pkg jello – strawberry or raspberry
  • 10 oz. pkg. frozen strawberries or raspberries
  • 2 cups boiling water
Mix jello into boiling water, add frozen fruit, mix to separate berries.  Let cool and spoon or gently pour over cream cheese layer.  Put in refrigerator until ready to serve.  Cut in squares.
I used two pkg. of raspberries and about 1/3 cup less boiling water (because of the juice in the raspberries).

This stuff is addictive, kinda like crack in a pan. It’s much better with raspberries than strawberries, trust me, the latter make it MUCH too sweet.
